Australian Motorsport legend John Bowe celebrates his 40th year of racing in style by winning the Touring Car Masters in the last round at Homebush.
Using his Video VBOX supplied by VBOX Australia to give him an edge in competitive motorsport, Bowe topped off a fantastic season by securing his first championship win in over 15 years, taking two race wins at the New South Wales circuit.
This season has been a whirlwind of success for both Sally – the name of Bowe’s ’69 WesTrac CAT/ Wilson Security Mustang – and the former Australian Drivers Champion, taking 12 race wins and securing no fewer than five pole positions in the eight round series.
Talking about his win Bowe said: “Championships have never really been my priority, but in this case I made an exception because so many people and companies have helped me with the Mustang Sally project.”
“Let’s hope that next year we can continue to win a race or two. The Seton XB two-door looks incredibly strong after two race meetings and two round wins. Sally will need to really pick up her skirts to beat that combination.”
He added: ““The VBOX gives me an edge in competitive motor sport. In my world it’s vital to deliver beyond my sponsors expectations and with VBOX I can deliver, all but putting my sponsors behind the wheel. The potential for VBOX is huge, I can see the day where every motor sport racer in Australia will have one.”
We’ve got our fingers crossed 2012 will be just as successful for John and Sally!
